The Static Monsters – Log Lift and Axle Deadlift Competition

What is it?

The Static Monsters is made up of two competitions that happen at different times of the year.

Worldwide – The Static Monsters Worldwide is a one weekend, super sized strongman competition with events running across more than 20 countries. All events follow the same rules, equipment regulations and scoring system. This offers competitors a world ranking on their Log Lift and Axle Deadlift.

World Championships – The Static Monsters World Championships offers a place for the best in the world to compete head to head. Those who place in the top ten in their class in the Worldwide event are invited to compete in one big competition to see who is the best of the monsters

Goals: To give more access to people to be able to try the sport of strongman by having more events in more regions To offer the opportunity for anyone to be able to have a go at the sport, regardless of ability Have an event where both the elite and the novice can compete together and enjoy it and be able to have quality competition.

To keep everything in check for our weight classes they will remain the same as those used by the Australian Strongman Alliance. (www.australianstrongmanalliance.com.au).

NOTE: COMPETITORS MUST WEIGH IN “UNDER” THEIR WEIGHT CLASS AS IS IT LISTED “UNDER 90KG, UNDER 82.5KGS ETC”

FOR EXAMPLE: IF YOU WEIGH IN 90.0KGS YOU WILL BE LISTED AS UNDER 105KGS. IF YOU WEIGH IN AS 89.9KGS YOU WILL BE LISTED AS UNDER 90KGS. THE SAME GOES FOR POUNDS.

As the Static Monsters is an international event, we will set the weight classes in both Pounds and Kilograms

Masters and Adaptive Athletes will compete within their Weight Classes. Their Masters and Adaptive rankings come separately as well. They will receive multiple rankings as a part of the Worldwide event then. For Example. A Male who weighs in at 89.9kgs but turns 40 before October 25th 2019, will get a rankings in both the Mens under 90kgs Class and in the Masters Class.

Adaptive Athletes:

For the standing division, you must have a physical disability that prevents you from safely handling the weights in the open division and/or competing evenly against athletes without any disabilities. For the seated division, you need to either have a physical disability that requires you to use a wheelchair or you meet the physical criteria for the standing division but you choose to compete in a wheelchair. For instance, if you have a prosthetic leg, you may compete in either division, depending on how you feel the prosthetic limb will hold up. If you are competing in the seated division, all athletes will be using the same wheelchair for the events. For the neuro division, you must have cerebral palsy, spina bifida, MS, or some similar condition that impairs optimal neurological function at a high enough level to put you at a disadvantage going against someone with a fully functional nervous system. One Arm athletes would be lifting a Dumbbell instead of a log.
